Active and Passive Modalities

Passive Modalities
In order to reach each patient’s goals efficiently and comfortably, it is sometimes necessary to utilize passive physical medicine therapeutic modalities. Having multiple options in passive modalities can expedite the overall recovery process by customizing individual patient care to provide the most effective treatment for each circumstance. We offer ice/heat, interferential current therapy, electrical muscle stimulation, high and low volt galvanic stimulation, diathermy, ultrasound, radial pressure wave therapy, intersegmental traction, and spinal decompression traction.

Active Modalities
If your goal is to reduce future episodes of symptomatology, beyond simple temporary pain relief with some restoration of function, then active physical medicine modalities become necessary. We offer specific spinal rehabilitation including well-accepted spinal stabilization exercises, targeted stretching, neuromuscular re-education, activities of daily living and ergonomic consulting, body mechanics posture review, therapeutic exercises, and the MedX rehabilitation exercise machines.
